DCI - Central Texas

There are many models and ways to organize the workings of the DCI. The DCI is in itself a convergence model and must be organized by looking at its parts. There are five constituencies that must be engaged with:

INDIVIDUALS

Individuals and, especially entrepreneurs, are the engine of innovation for a regional economy and students which are the lifeblood of the next generation.

CORPORATIONS

The corporations in the Central Texas digital convergence economy, from small to large, are fully engaged in the global battle for innovation, market share, and profitability in this emerging space. These companies will be the ones to benefit most from the projects, but for many the skills and new models are what will make the digital convergence difference.

INSTITUTIONS

Both academic and non-academic institutions have a critical role to play in the leading-edge research that frequently provides the core innovation that drives commercialization. As the product lifecycles shorten these institutions take on an even greater role.

GOVERNMENT AND
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Government and Economic Development organizations have a central role to play in supporting the growth of a new regional economy, providing key resources where needed, and most importantly in the retooling of the workforce that will be necessary for the Central Texas digital convergence economy to be globally competitive.

SPONSORS

Sponsors for the DCI will include participants from all of the above categories plus other organizations, such as foundations, that have a strong interest in making Central Texas a leading player in digital convergence.
